The Art of the Bag

The designs on the bags are the brain-child of the husband-and-wife team of Dexter Doi and Carol D'Angelo. The artistic designs on the front and back are reflective of the type of artwork that both artists produce in their fine art paintings. Dexter Doi is known for his koi oil paintings and Carol D'Angelo is known for her tropical scene oil paintings. Dexter Doi's design is called "Flip Flop", and depicts three playfully jumping koi frolicking in rippling water next to a water lily. The image is accompanied by the statement, "liquid vitality" to emphasize the importance of pure clean water. Carol D'Angelo's design is called "Mambo Jambo". It depicts a lush tropical garden of leaves, flowers, and a bird that quotes the statement, "nurture nature" to emphasize the obvious need of us being the caretakers of the planet. Each bag also has "Hawaii" printed on it.
